Circa 1980, nude swimming was optional at the all-male YMCA in my town. Although I am not adverse to casual nudity in the locker room, I was and am far too modest to swim naked.

Oct 27, 2024 · The walls of the pool were black lava bricks and the floor was pure white sand scattered with shells. The walls were all alive with bright red crabs. Best swimming pool ever. It was destroyed in a lava flow a couple years ago. Never went to Honolulu. Because cities make me mentally, physically, and spiritually ill. Nothing there for me.

The neighbours immediately behind me have a young son and daughter of elementary school age and the only time – literally the only time – I heard a peep out of them was when they got a new swimming pool and the little girl got all excited jumping into it. They also have a dog that I’ve never heard bark.
