Grandma's silverware is going to get a different price from vintage rounds/bars or ASEs or low grade 90% silver coins. Unless there's some additional collectible value, any shop is going to pay a little back of spot and sell for a little premium over spot.

I intentionally damaged a few to see what extreme cleaning can do to a coin. Those coins are beyond restoration. However, the others were only lightly cleaned using different methods.

Apr 20, 2012 · I would expec it to remove dirt or oils from the surface, not affect any toning on the coin and not affect any corrosion on the coin. I would not expect it to do anything to the coin. Frankly 212 degrees is not likely to discolor the coin from heat. If done in distilled water you won't have chemical reactions between the water and the metal.

The US did not start minting coins until 1792. 2) You say your coin has a denomination of "20D". The highest denomination silver US coin is $1. 3) The US did not start minting a $20 coin until 1849.
