Aug 22, 2014 · I've noticed that TotalWireless now offers hotspot. I believe this means that one could use a phone with certain TW service plans to create a hotspot to tether other devices. Any speculation as to whether Tracfone will ever offer this? I have a Pixel 3a BYOP with the 1 year unlimited phone minutes, unlimited texting and 12gb data plan.

Oct 3, 2024 · I guess the hotspot is only allowed on specific plans, such as monthly. I tested hotspot on my main (this 2024 Moto g 5g) TF and it still says my phone isn't hotspot capable. The service was transferred from another TF, bought bundled on TF's eBay store. I am guessing no hotspot for any eBay or HSN/QVC bundle phones.

I am going to move the line to a BYOD SIM and put it my unlocked Galaxy Ultra 23 to confirm the hotspot on that device functions as well. That's the same device I tried to use hotspot on the U+U Yearly plan which did not yet work.

Oct 3, 2024 · I've seen this "hotspot capable" language used with TF QVC phones that I don't believe came with hotspot. Be interesting to see if the plans really do have hotspot. Even the $15 talk and text unlimited plan is coming with 1GB of data now and also "hotspot capable".

Oct 3, 2024 · Yes, those three unlimited plans were just examples that I selected. There are many different unl plans, monthly and yearly. They all recently had their data doubled. And hotspot capability added. Before only the $40 unlimited plan had hotspot. In addition, the one gigabyte data for $10 was increased to 3 GB.
