Jun 10, 2007 · I've used the smaller fish, 3-4", whole, and step on them to get the juices flowing or live like you would use a bluegill. They compete with the catfish for food here and are aggressive, stealing all my baits. I've heard of other people using larger fillets soaked in Filipino/Thai femented fish sauce and they say it works well (for the catfish).

Stuck it in a gladware container and put it in the fridge. My 1st test before i put it in the fridge, i balled up a gumball sized chunk.

Jan 24, 2008 · There is a muscular layer that connects the skin to the body . It is about 1/32 to upwards of 1/8 inch in bigger fish and dark red in color. You must trim all of that off . It is the culprit for ruining your otherwise tasty fillets. The harder a fish fights the thicker this muscle tissue.

Jul 15, 2008 · soak fish over night in salt water either before or after freezing. pat dry. roll in beaten egg and dredge in combined ingrediants. place in hot oil quickly after dredging. fry till golden and floating.:wink: for a spicer mix add 1 full tsp cayanne chili powder or add 2 tsp of tobasco sauce to egg mixture before beating.:wink: i like it spicy.
