AMD GPU Encoding forces 4:2:0 color range no matter the settings
May 25, 2022 · AMD Radeon Settings has such video enhancing feature, BTW. But they are disabled. Plus, NV12 + 709 + Partial option of OBS matches the desktop color tone 99%. If video enhancing software was the problem, it would have effected those videos, too and none of the settings would give accurate results. So, there is must be some other explanation.

May 7, 2018 · I use a laptop with an AMD Radeon R5 and until yesterday, the AMD encoder worked just fine. When I try to start recording, it gives me a message saying "Starting the output failed, make sure your video drivers are up to date." I already know about the x264 software encoder, but when i enable that it uses up half of my CPU.

Mar 12, 2023 · Create 2 profiles. One for streaming, one for recording. Now, for each one, run the Auto-configuration Wizard (tools menu) and apply the settings it gives. Restart OBS and test. Of course, select streaming for the streaming profile and recording on the recording profile when running the Auto-configuration Wizard.
