49ers’ Demarcus Robinson faces three-game suspension for DUI violation, coach Kyle Shanahan says
San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan says receiver Demarcus Robinson faces a three-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver DeMarcus Robinson has received a multi-game suspension ahead of the 2025 NFL season.
Coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed to KNBR today free agent signee Demarcus Robinson will be suspended for the first three games of the regular season. This suspension stems from an arrest last November in which Robinson was charged with misdemeanor DUI. California Highway Patrol officers observed him driving more than 100 mph in southern California.
Robinson - who will turn 31 in September - first came into the league as a fourth-round pick in 2016 by the Kansas City Chiefs, winning Super Bowl LIV with them before also having stints with the Las Vegas Raiders, Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Rams.
San Francisco quarterback Mac Jones sustained a knee sprain in the 49ers’ second preseason game on Saturday and won’t be available when the NFL team closes its preseason schedule on Saturday.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is likely itching to get back on the field after suffering a season-ending injury in Week 7 last season, but he and the team may have broken an NFL rule as he works his way back from a torn ACL and MCL.
Martin started the preseason shaky and looked good later in the second preseason game. However, he is a third-round pick, and not only is he not pushing Dee Winters, you could argue Luke Gifford and Tatum Bethune are closer to Martin than Martin is to Winters.
The injury list for the San Francisco 49ers went through a bit of a shuffle with a few key players returning from injuries Tuesday while significant questions remain on several others just a week before NFL rosters will be cut to 53 players.
