SIBOLANGIT, Indonesia -- Rescuers recovered two more bodies from a tourist bus hit by a landslide triggered by torrential rains on Indonesia's Sumatra island, bringing the death toll to nine, officials said. At least 20 people have died in other landslides and floods in the region this week.

Indonesian officials say rescuers have recovered 16 bodies under tons of mud and rocks or that were swept away in flash floods that hit mountainside villages on Sumatra Island.

Indonesian rescuers on Friday searched for survivors buried in three cars and bus at the base of a cliff after flash floods and landslides in North Sumatra province killed at least 29 people.

Landslides in Indonesia's North Sumatra province have claimed at least seven lives, with more than seven others reported missing, according to top rescuers and officials.
