Syracuse, N.Y. -- Orange center Eddie Lampkin said he’s dealt with back tightness at various times over the course of his career and the problem popped up again during back-to-back battles in Brooklyn and a pair of bus rides from Syracuse to New York City.

The Syracuse Orange (4-2) finally got a double-digit win this season but it sure didn’t unfold as easily as anyone expected. In the end, two freshmen led the way as Syracuse pulled out a 82-72 win over the Cornell Big Red- the 44th consecutive win for the Orange over the Big Red.

Once Syracuse stopped settling it started scoring against Cornell on Wednesday night. The Orange shook off a slow start and did what it’s traditionally done in the one-sided regional matchup, beating Cornell 82-72 in the JMA Wireless Dome,

The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team (4-2) once again had to overcome a slow start, but picked up the intensity on both ends of the floor to defeat the Cornell Big Red (4-3) by a final score of 82-72.
