College football rankings: Each AP Top 25 team's biggest beacon of hope, cause for concern in 2025
It is true that most teams that landed in the preseason AP Top 25 have plenty of reason for optimism. They were good enough to get ranked after all and, in the 12-team era, that puts a program squarely in the race for the College Football Playoff.

A new metric has been introduced to value strength of schedule for the College Football Playoff selection committee.
The College Football Playoff selection committee announced it will place more emphasis on strength of schedule this year when determining the 12-team field.
The Athletic has released its list of the 25 most interesting people in college football, and Clemson standout Peter Woods made the cut.
The committee said in a statement that the schedule strength metric has been adjusted to apply greater weight to games against strong opponents.
This new spot with Gillis, Vendor Voices, will run as the season unfolds and celebrates the full and total return of college football specifically. Bud Light has gotten in on that action as they have 28 different team cans. Thankfully the Florida Gators are represented (I may or may not be biased).
