President Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a phone call on Tuesday that following the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, the focus should now be on reaching a hostage-release and ceasefire in Gaza deal,

Under the agreement, Israeli troops would retreat from southern Lebanon while Hezbollah would move its forces further away from the Israeli-Lebanon border.

A ceasefire deal that went into effect on Wednesday could end more than a year of cross-border fighting between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group, raising hopes and renewing difficult questions in a region gripped by conflict.
