In the wake of the 2020 census, Utah's state legislators took control of the congressional redistricting process, sidelining a non-partisan commission created by voter-approved proposition.

That's why Salt Lake City is looking to completely rewrite its zoning map, trimming 26 existing mixed-use and commercial zones, differentiated by height, into six more distinctive zones.
