You may not know that a rainbow is presented in a full circle. The "bow" is the portion that people usually see. The viewer must first be between the sun and the falling rain to catch a rainbow.
So when the sun is behind you and the rain in front of you, you see a rainbow of colours reflected back from inside the raindrops. As well as the lovely colours, rainbows also have a unique shape.
Whilst rare, a reflection rainbow mainly occurs when the sun is lower on the horizon behind ... of light are reflected three times within a rain drop and a triple rainbow is produced.
