Ruud van Nistelrooy thankful for ‘honour’ of representing Manchester United - Van Nistelrooy, who joined the coaching staff in the summer, took temporary charge of United following the sacking of Erik ten Hag last month.

The Dutchman's exit was announced on Monday, just hours after new United head coach Ruben Amorim had arrived in England from Portugal. Van Nistelrooy returned to United during the summer as assistant manager, 18 years after he left the club as a player, and was put in caretaker charge following the exit of fellow countryman Erik ten Hag last month.

Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy's future at Manchester United is up in the air ahead of the arrival of Ruben Amorim but goalkeeper Andre Onana said the players are keen for the Dutch coach to remain with the club.
