Las Vegas Sands opened its Singapore casino in 2010, and the resort has become an important part of the company’s business, making up a significant share of the company’s revenue.

Construction has started on an $8 billion "ultra luxurious" integrated resort in Singapore that will expand the city-state's Marina Bay Sands integrated resort and Las Vegas Sands' presence in Asia.

The Las Vegas Sands opened a convention center behind the hotel in 1990. In 1996, the company imploded the hotel to make room for more modern resorts. The first to rise in its place was The Venetian.
