LONDON (AP) — Former “Harry Potter” film actor Rupert Grint faces a 1.8 million-pound ($2.3 million) bill after he lost a legal battle with the tax authorities.

Rupert Grint must pay £1.8 million (about $2.3 million) to the U.K.'s tax agency after incorrectly classifying his 'Harry Potter' residuals as a capital asset instead of income, a British judge ruled this week.

The U.K. government claims that Grint attempted to use the same tax loophole the Beatles tried using in the 1960s to lower their overall taxes.
