DETROIT LAKES — The “World’s Smallest Gas Station,” which was pumping gasoline to motorists in Detroit Lakes more than 100 years ago, wasn’t always so little.

Two brothers who own the only commercial stop on Highway 21 between Boise and Idaho City added gas pumps to the property, ending a decades-long dry spell.

Homeowners with heat pumps are more satisfied with their home heating system than those with gas boilers or any other technology, research suggests.

A survey of 3,000 British households found 94 of those with heat pumps are satisfied with them, higher than any other heating technology.
