DENMARK -- Bamberg County's two school boards on Monday named a single superintendent and deputy superintendent to lead the two districts as they prepare for consolidation.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said a car ran off a Bamberg County road then hit a tree and the driver died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
