Mobile breaks 130-year-old all-time snow record as winter storm sweeps Alabama
The National Weather Service in Mobile said that as of 6:10 p.m. 7.5 inches of snow had fallen at its office in west Mobile. That breaks the old all-time record of 6 inches from 1895. That’s not the only record that was broken on Tuesday.
Record-level snow hits south Alabama
All-time record snowfall blanketed the Mobile area on Tuesday. Footage from Noah Scheeler shows the campus of the University of South Alabama draped in a thick winter coat, as snow continued to fall in the region.
