From O.J. Simpson to Leon Lett, or the Butt Fumble to the coin flip flub, the NFL has produced some memorable Thanksgiving moments.

The Lions and Cowboys are the two mainstays on Thanksgiving, with Detroit playing their first game in 1934 and Dallas joining the tradition in 1966. Both teams have been permanent fixtures ever since, with four other teams being selected each year to round out the holiday schedule.

There are few constants in the NFL, but one thing that never changes is the fact that the Detroit Lions play football every year on Thanksgiving Day. Excluding the years during World War II, the Lions have played on the holiday every year since 1934.
