Man who cut both cheeks when he used supermarket own-brand razor discovered that one of the blades was detached

It is not surprising that the expression “a close shave” is used to describe a dangerous, often near-death experience. Trusting another person with a sharp blade up against your neck in any other context would be an objectively bad idea.

A man who cut himself shaving has been paid $6,250 compensation – from the razor company. Nick Silverthorn, 48, purchased a supermarket own brand razor from his local store. But when he got home and used it for the first time he says it cut both cheeks.

A man from London was awarded $6,250 in compensation following a shaving mishap that caused him significant facial lacerations. In the lawsuit he submitted, he claimed that he bought a $3 store-brand razor from a Sainsbury’s store and found that one of the blades was missing.
