Sidi Mohammad Abdallahi, accused shooter in a hate crime, was found dead by apparent suicide in Cook County Jail.

A 22-year-old man accused of shooting a Jewish man who was on his way to synagogue before exchanging gunfire with Chicago police officers and paramedics has died after he was found unresponsive in his jail cell.

The suspect, who according to prosecutors had mapped Jewish sites in Chicago, had been charged with hate crime and terrorism charges for the Oct. 26 shooting.

Sidi Mohammad Abdallahi, 22, was charged with shooting a man headed to synagogue in West Rogers Park in October. Abdallahi's death is believed to be a suicide.
