Google has reportedly offered to sell its AdX advertising marketplace to resolve antitrust concerns raised by the European Union. This offer comes amid increasing global scrutiny of Google’s dominance in the online advertising sector.

Brussels: Alphabet unit Google won its challenge on Wednesday against a 1.49 billion euro ($1.66 billion) antitrust fine imposed five years ago for hindering rivals in online search advertising, a week after it lost a much bigger case.

Following a complaint from the European Publishers Council, the European Commission opened its investigation of the search giant, charging Google with violating its antitrust laws by using its advertising technology to undermine and unlawfully block rivals.
