Thousands of fake Gibson electric guitars were seized this week in California that could have sold for millions of dollars, according to officials.

Thousands of counterfeit Gibson electric guitars were seized at the Los Angeles-Long Beach Seaport, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

They would have been worth nearly $18 million if they were genuine, making it the largest counterfeit instrument seizure in history, officials said.
