Vietnam's Party General Secretary and President To Lam left Hanoi for New York on Saturday morning to attend United Nations events, work in the U.S. and then visit Cuba.

HANOI (Reuters) - Vietnam's president and ruling Communist Party chief To Lam will pay a working visit to the United States next week and participate in the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, according to a government statement. After that, Lam will pay an official visit to Cuba, Vietnam's long-term communist partner.

Central Committee and President of Vietnam To Lam, his spouse, and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam left Hanoi Saturday (Sept 21) morning for a trip to attend the United Nations Summit of the Future and the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79),
