In a court filing Tuesday night, the attorneys said that, at most, Ellison should be sentenced to time served and supervised release.

The legal team for Caroline Ellison, the former CEO of Alameda Research, has requested a lenient sentence for the star witness of the FTX trial, claiming that Ellison’s cooperation with the government qualifies her for softer sentencing.

Ellison ran Alameda Research, the FTX-affiliated hedge fund, and testified that she committed fraud at founder Sam Bankman-Fried's direction last year.
