The “Goodbye Stranger” rocker died at his Long Island home Friday, the Grammy-nominated band revealed in a heartfelt tribute.

He wrote hits including “Goodbye Stranger” and “Bloody Well Right,” and his use of the Wurlitzer piano became one of Supertramp’s signature sounds.

Rick Davies, the Supertramp co-founder who sang and wrote some of the group's most popular songs, has died at age 81.
