The Green Lynx Spider is a harmless species of arachnid that, despite being quite common, takes a keen eye to observe. Just another reason to literally “stop and smell the roses”!

And, lo-and-behold, it was my 10-year-old son who pointed it out to me, in all places, at a theme park. That spider is known as the green lynx spider.

I discovered that the spider is called a green lynx, and its true name is Peucetia viridans. This is an impressive spider, but it is much more common in Florida than it is here.
