An NFL draft trade proposal has the Cleveland Browns moving up to the No. 1 pick to draft Shedeur Sanders to replace Deshaun Watson.

Although Deshaun Watson has left much to be desired in head coach Kevin Stefanski's offensive system, he is under contract for two more years. It would be wise to draft a quarterback and sign a veteran, but it may be hard to pass on the best player in the draft altogether.

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has suffered a setback in his recovery from an Achilles tendon rupture, further clouding his future with the team.

Berry said it’s “too early to tell” if Watson can play in 2025 after Watson told doctors during the quarterback’s end-of-the-season physical that “something didn’t feel right” in his repaired ankle. Berry said the team is still gathering details on the injury.

Per Joseph Zucker of Bleacher Report, NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic said during the latest edition of the "Scoop City" podcast that the Cleveland Browns "always planned on going for a quarterback in the upcoming draft" even before general manager Andrew Berry revealed on Monday that Deshaun Watson experienced a setback in his recovery from a ruptured Achilles.
