More than 1.2 million residents evacuated ahead of the storm, including thousands in the capital, Manila, as authorities issued warnings of storm surges, flooding, and landslides

Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes as Super Typhoon Man-yi is making landfall along the eastern coast of Catanduanes, Philippines on Saturday.

Nearly 180,000 people in the central region of Bicol have been evacuated, data from the disaster agency showed. Man-yi, locally known as Pepito, would be the sixth tropical cyclone to hit the Philippines in a month.
