Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim said there will be departures from his squad in the summer, potentially setting up for an exodus after another up-and-down season for the Red Devils.

United legend Paul Scholes said the Argentine international looked as if he was “sulking” after he was taken off for Christian Eriksen with just over ten minutes to go in San Sebastian. Amorim, however, has revealed fatigue played a part in his decision-making.

Graham Potter, who took charge of West Ham in January, is keen to add a midfielder capable of dictating possession. Gomes, who made his senior England debut last September under Lee Carsley, has been earmarked as a player who fits the club’s profile.
