The Ohio High School Athletic Association on Sunday announced the pairings and sites for the football regional championships. The games are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday. Central Ohio teams are in bold. 1. Mentor (13-0) vs. 7. Lakewood St. Edward (8-5) at Bedford High School Bearcat Stadium

The Michigan high school football playoffs continue with the quarterfinals of the MHSAA state tournament, with 32 games on the schedule played between Friday and Saturday.

Some of the area winners were teams in our preseason top-10 countdown, such as Westlake, LBJ, Dripping Springs and Lake Travis. But the competition should be tougher in the area playoffs next round.
