Beyond “Beetlejuice,” “Deadpool & Wolverine” placed second on the box office charts, making $7.2 million in its seventh weekend. Its cumulative domestic total is now $614 million.

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” was No.1 at the Friday box office for the second straight week, its eighth day in theaters, earning $14.4 million, according to The Numbers.

It feels like the setup for “Beetlejuice 3” — and given the box office income, that feels likely — but honestly there’s not enough spine-tingling here to justify another installment.

But for “Beetlejuice,” the box office was in a quiet phase that is expected to break when “ Joker: Folie à Deux ” dances its way onto the big screen on Oct. 4.
