Syracuse Orange star J.J. Starling is out for Tuesday night’s game against No. 3 Tennessee with a left-hand injury, per release. The release said that the injury was suffered in practice on Monday and that Starling did travel with the team to Knoxville.

Syracuse guard JJ Starling will miss the team’s upcoming game against No.3-ranked Tennessee due to an injury. The news comes as the Syracuse Orange prepare for a tough matchup with the undefeated Volunteers.

SU Athletics announced that J.J. Starling will miss the game.  “Voice of the Orange” Matt Park posted on social media that Starling broke his left hand in practice. Starling is averaging nearly 20 points per game this season.

Syracuse guard JJ Starling sustained an injury to his left hand at practice and will not play in the team's road game against No. 3 Tennessee on Tuesday, the school announced.

Starling transferred to Syracuse from Notre Dame ahead of last season. The Junior is the program’s leading scorer after six games into the 2024 season. So far this year, he's averaging more than 19-points per game while shooting more than 46% from the field. He's also averaging 5.5 rebounds and three assists per game.

The news of JJ Starling's injury has made Tennessee an even bigger favorite over Syracuse basketball in the SEC/ACC challenge on Tuesday night.
