Memphis basketball will face No. 3 Auburn for the Maui Invitational championship Wednesday at Lahaina Civic Center.

Despite coming into a loaded Maui Invitational field as one of the four unranked teams in the tournament, the Memphis Tigers are now just one win away from being crowned champions of what is arguably the most well-known event of Feast Week.

The biggest issue for Penny Hardaway’s Memphis basketball team in its 90-76 loss to No. 3 Auburn Wednesday at the Maui Invitational was crystal clear.

Memphis took an impressive path to the Maui finai, upsetting No. 2 UConn and defeating Michigan State, but eventually ran into an Auburn buzzsaw. The Tigers from the SEC ran out to a 9–0 lead before Memphis closed the gap to four points.

The Auburn Tigers have been one of the most impressive teams in college basketball this season. Bruce Pearl and the Tigers took home the title at the Maui Invitational on Wednesday with a dominant 90-76 win over Memphis in the title game.
