Penn State is adding to its 2025 class just one day before the official early signing window opens, and it came in the form of a late-breaking flip. Three-star tight end Brian Kortovich announced his commitment to Penn State on Tuesday via social media.

Penn State has had few recruiting victories in the hours before National Signing Day over the last handful of years. But, this year is different. The No. 3 Nittany Lions hosted former Purdue commit Brian Kortovich for their regular season finale at Beaver Stadium last Saturday.

Kortovich’s commitment came one day after it was reported that Penn State tight end Jerry Cross had entered his name in the transfer portal. Cross was a former four-star prospect from Milwaukee in the 2022 recruiting class who has played sparingly for the Lions.

Penn State flipped a three-star tight end from another Big Ten program just before early signing period for Class of 2025.

Penn State has landed a new commitment just before National Signing Day. Brian Kortovich, a three-star tight end from Cleveland, flipped his commitment from Purdue to the Nittany Lions on Wednesday. He becomes the 26th player of the team’s 2025 recruiting class.
