Indian Premier League (IPL) legend Shikhar Dhawan hit his maiden Nepal Premier League (NPL) half-century on Wednesday (December 4, 2024) as Karnali Yaks dragged themselves to a total of 149/5 in 20 overs against Kathmandu Gurkhas in Kirtipur.

Shikhar Dhawan did not have a great start to the Nepal Premier League as he was dismissed for just 14 runs in the first match. The veteran cricketer though bounced back in style and slammed a brutal half-century.

Kathmandu Gurkhas won the toss and decided to bowl first against Karnali Yaks in the sixth match of the inaugural Nepal Premier League taking place in Kirtipur.

Besides, Dhawan, the league will also feature former cricketing stars like New Zealand duo of Martin Guptill and James Neesham and, England's Ravi Bopara. West Indies' keeper-batter Chadwick Walton, Pakistani all-rounder Mohammad Hussain Talat, and Hong Kong batter Babar Hayat among the other overseas players.
