Tennessee state Sen. Ken Yager was arrested, booked into a Georgia jail Tuesday night and accused of getting in a hit and run while driving under the influence. Yager, a Republican from Kingston, is chairman of the Senate Republican Caucus.

As a result, troopers said Yager was arrested and charged with DUI, hit-and-run and failure to stop at a stop sign. He was transported to the Glynn County Detention Center, where he posted a $2,117 bond, according to a media release.
