Two sisters were killed trying to rescue their disabled father from a house fire in Essex County on Thanksgiving, authorities said. Frantzia Fleury, 49, and Pojanee Fleury, 42, died in the fire that started around 5 p.m. Thursday at their home on 600 Mosswood Avenue in Orange, according to a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

A fire broke out at a propane distribution facility in Lancaster on Friday afternoon. The Los Angeles County Fire Department said the fire started at about 2:20 p.m. in the 42000 block of 8th Street E. Multiple propane tanks exploded during the blaze.
