Authorities say U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents have seized more than 3,000 fake Gibson electric guitars shipped from Asia at the Los Angeles-Long Beach Seaport

Thousands of fake Gibson electric guitars were seized this week in California that could have sold for millions of dollars, according to officials.

First reported by Guitar World the cease and desist letter reportedly alleges the design of the Trump guitars “infringes upon Gibson’s exclusive trademarks, particularly the iconic Les Paul body shape.” Gibson didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Monday.

Trump showed off one of the guitars in a Truth Social post last week, touting it as a “limited edition ’45’ guitar” that can be purchased online. The body of the guitar features an eagle and an American flag,

Gibson Brands, the historic maker of guitars such as the Les Paul, has accused 16 Creative, the agency behind Trump Guitars, of trademark infringement. The company issued a cease-and-desist letter, citing the unauthorized use of the Les Paul body shape.
