Every year, much is made about players being sure bets to get claimed by other teams, and every year the number is lower than expected — often less than one per team. Payton thinks his team will be getting poached this summer rather than doing the poaching.

Denver Broncos backup offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo suffered a season-ending ACL injury in a preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, coach Sean Payton confirmed after Tuesday's practice.

Sean Payton is clearly a big Tyler Badie fan. The 25-year-old running back seemed poised to carve out a notable role in the Denver Broncos ' backfield last fall before a scary back injury derailed his season. Now healthy again, Badie appears to be the favorite for RB3 duties in 2025 behind veteran J.K. Dobbins and second-round draft pick RJ Harvey.

The Broncos kept six D-linemen out of training camp last year, including Uwazurike. This year, the top five are known, with Zach Allen, D.J. Jones, John Franklin-Myers, Malcolm Roach, and Jones each being a lock. Who wins that sixth spot? Uwazurike, Jackson, or one of the undrafted rookies, Jordan Miller or Kristian Williams?

One position in particular that could cause headaches is wide receiver. Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin and third-round pick Pat Bryant are presumably locks. Devaughn Vele is presumably safe, and Trent Sherfield is set to serve as a key special teams player this season.

The Broncos have signed defensive tackle Michael Dwumfour, Mike Klis of 9News reports. In a corresponding move, the Broncos waived undrafted rookie inside linebacker J.B. Brown. Dwumfour, 27, was on of the defensive tackles who worked out for Denver on Tuesday.
