The buses are electric and designed for quick charging. At each end of the 15-mile route—one of the longest routes in London—the driver stops under an overhead charger and pushes a button.

The website says: "Our vintage London buses run regularly throughout the day to connect with the underground at Epping (Central Line, zone 6) and Greater Anglia and Elizabeth Line train services ...

The bus was a diesel-electric hybrid vehicle, a Transport for London spokesperson said via email. The video, shared in May 2024, was of an incident on June 17, 2022.

Last year London's 8,000 or so buses traveled 279 million miles and completed 2.23 billion journeys – more than half of all bus trips completed in England. But they're not green enough. Yet.
