After an appellate court ruled St. Charles and St. Louis counties could not stack their own marijuana sales tax on top of municipal sales taxes, the top elected official in St. Charles County said they’ll take the fight to the state supreme court.

A new court ruling could mean consumers of marijuana products will be paying less for those products. On Tuesday, an appellate court in the Eastern Missouri District ruled cities and counties can’t stack taxes on top of each other.
