Sunny and Gizmo were two of three hatchlings born to Jackie and Shadow in March 2025. A third eaglet, named Misty in honor of a former volunteer, died after a snowstorm hit the area.

Eaglets Sunny and Gizmo, both females, hatched in early March to Big Bear Valley celebrity eagle couple Jackie and Shadow. Jackie and Shadow have been a mating pair since 2018.

Gizmo was also seen nest-flapping over the last few weeks. Bald eaglets generally leave the nest, or fledge, at 10 to 14 weeks of age, experts said.
