Now, the local Narcotics Anonymous community, along with other recovery groups, are attempting to heal from the Aug. 8 incident and prevent any stigma from shrouding addiction rehabilitation.

Groups that actively oppose the Narcotics Anonymous philosophy, or help people in recovery transition away from 12-step groups, exist in large numbers on Facebook, many with thousands of members.
