From Internet Explorer to Edge to the new Edge, a partial evolution of Microsoft’s browser logos. The next generation of Microsoft’s Edge browser will be available to all in January.

Launched in 1995, Explorer became the world’s leading browser for more than a decade as it was bundled with Microsoft’s Windows operating system that came pre-installed in billions of computers.

Now after 27 years, the browser will be rendered inoperable this Wednesday. Microsoft announced in 2020 that Internet Explorer was set to retire and encouraged its users to move to the new browser.

Microsoft's iconic browser Internet Explorer was shut down on Wednesday, 27 years after its launch. Twitter was awash with nostalgic posts and memes about the browser, despite its many faults.
