The Filson Mackinaw Wool Double Coat is on sale for $348, half of its normal $695 price. Is it still expensive? Yes. Is it an absolute bargain for a coat this good that will last essentially forever?

I'm a fan of Filson but not a fan of lightweight waxed jackets. The Ranger Short Field jacket changed my mind.
