EDD said starting Friday it will begin the process of automatically paying people who have received benefits in the past but whose payments have been stalled pending certification.

Separately, the EDD will email or mail you a Continued Claim Form (DE 4581). You will need to submit the form every two weeks to get your benefit payments.

Question 3 on the EDD form asks simply: "Did you look for work?" "And you have to certify 'yes' to continue to receive benefits, but you don't have to list employers you've contacted or any mechanism.

Cindy, however, got a letter saying she needed to verify her identity - and the Social Security Number on the form was way off. "I said there's no way I typed this in like that," she said.
