The Cotopaxi was a cargo ship carrying coal, and 32 people, when it disappeared in 1925 after setting sail on November 29th. It sailed from Charleston, South Carolina, to Havana, Cuba.

The ship was famously 'discovered' in the Gobi ... the explorer found documents proving the Cotopaxi sent out a distress signal on December 1, 1925, something historians had not known previously.
