You've probably heard about cookie prices going up. The vast majority of troops are now selling boxes for between $5 and $7.

Unfortunately, some of my co-workers also were the parents of Girl Scouts and were selling cookies, too, so I invariably ended up with a net loss and, of course, unwanted pounds.

MIAMI (CBSMiami/CNN) -- The sale of Girl Scout cookies across South Florida and the rest of the nation crumbled as the organization faces 15 million unsold boxes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Girl Scouts have an unusual problem this year: 15 million boxes of unsold cookies. The 109-year-old organization says the coronavirus — not thinner demand for Thin Mints — is the main culprit.

I went all-in on the idea, investing in 100 cookie boxes, which I loaded with hamantaschen and distributed giddily to friends and acquaintances.
