“Civilization World,” which has been development for years and in closed beta testing for months, may finally go live to the general public this summer, says developer Sid Meier.

Of foremost importance to those wanting to play Civilization World, Meier said he expects the game to launch sometime this summer, a year and a half after the project was first announced.

Civilization World takes the gameplay of the Civilization series to Facebook as players forge alliances with their friends and build civilizations from the dark ages to the space age.
